Supabase Integration

The Supabase integration lets you give any Michelangelo app its own real backend, powered by your own Supabase project.

What Supabase Adds

Supabase provides a managed database, authentication, and storage. Connecting it to a Michelangelo project means your app can store data, manage users, and scale beyond the device.

How It Works

Every Michelangelo app links to one dedicated Supabase project. A Supabase project already backing another app cannot be selected again. You can connect in two places: From Home, before the app exists:

1. Tap the + button in the prompt input.
2. Choose Supabase.
3. Tap Add Supabase Account and complete the sign-in in the browser.
4. Select one of your Supabase projects from the picker.
5. Describe your app, including its backend needs, and submit the prompt.

From App Settings, for an existing app:

1. Open a project in the editor.
2. Tap the settings icon in the header.
3. Go to Supabase.
4. Tap Add Supabase Account if you have not connected yet.
5. Tap Select project and choose one of your Supabase projects.

In both cases, describe backend needs in plain language, such as:

• “Save user profiles to a database.”
• “Let users sign up and log in.”
• “Show live updates when data changes.”

Michelangelo generates the front-end code, creates the required tables in your Supabase project, and wires the app to it.

What You Get

• A complete app connected to your own Supabase project.
• Database tables created for what you described.
• Sign-in-ready code using your project URL and anonymous key.
• Your data visible and manageable in the Supabase dashboard.

Managing the Connection

Open App Settings → Supabase to see:

• Connected Account — the Supabase account you signed in with.
• Project Database — the Supabase project backing this app. Tap it to open the Supabase dashboard.
• Actions — change the linked project with Change project, or remove it with Unlink project.

Unlinking removes the link between the Michelangelo app and the Supabase project. It does not delete anything on Supabase.

If You Have No Projects Yet

The picker helps you get set up without leaving the flow:

• Tap Create project or Add new project to open the Supabase dashboard and create one, then come back to pick it.
• Tap Switch organization to sign in again with a different Supabase organization.
